Local Opportunities

Bethesda Medical Clinic – The Clinic provides medical care for low income working adults who have no access to insurance. Bethel’s doctors, nurses and other medical specialists join together two or three times a year to serve the community by staffing Bethesda on a Saturday morning.

East Texas State Fair – Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) staffs the story telling trailer each year during the Fair.  Bethel joins them to follow up with children and families who hear the good news at the fair and want to talk further at the Fair.

Living Alternatives – At Living Alternatives offers friendship, constructive answers and support to those facing the difficult choices surrounding unplanned pregnancy.Life Groups, families and individuals join together to serve quarterly at Fatherheart Maternity home doing all kinds of work projects.

Prison Ministry – Bill Glass Ministries
– Spend some time in prison and you’ll see God moving among the inmates. Join Bethel on one of the three trips each year to a regional prison in order to share the gospel with those interested in hearing.

Girls Shelter – Serve a meal and spend time doing a craft as well as share some conversation with girls that are in a vulnerable place in life. These girls have been removed from their home situation and are awaiting placement into foster care or adoption.  Weekly opportunities to relate and connect.

Union Bible Fellowship – Our sister church in North Tyler does several community outreaches each year. Bethel comes along side by serving UBF during these outreach times. We partner with the members of UBF to reach out and serve their community.

Salvation Army – Join a group heading to the Salvation Army monthly to serve a meal or do volunteer work with our partners in ministry. Ring the bell during Bethel Days leading up to Christmas to help raise awareness and funds.

East Texas Food Bank – More than 200 nonprofit human service agencies in 26 counties in East Texas receive much of their food from the East Texas Food Bank’s warehouse in Tyler. Bethel helps several times a year with processing, sorting and distributing food.

Foster/Adoption Ministries – There are many families at Bethel who are active foster families and others who have adopted. Join a team to coach, encourage and support those committed to bringing these vulnerable orphans into their homes.
